The Toyota Prius c Concept is a small hybrid petrol-electric car which is the inspiration for a small Toyota hybrid believed to be coming to market by early 2012. The Toyota Prius c Concept was first shown at the January 2011 North American International Auto Show. A production version – tentatively known simply as the Toyota Prius c – is scheduled to go on sale in the US in the second quarter of 2012. In Australia, the Toyota Prius Concept has made its debut at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne, and Toyota Australia has all but confirmed the compact hybrid will go on sale Down Under in the second half of 2012. The ‘c’ in C Prius stands for “city”-centric vehicle as it is much smaller than the normal Prius and is aimed at younger buyers without families who don’t need lots of space. The Toyota C Prius will be Toyota’s most affordable hybrid and the company expect it to offer even better fuel economy and lower emissions than their flagship Prius.

The upcoming Toyota Prius C will look nothing like the compact car that debuted at numerous auto shows last year. Instead, the C Prius hybrid would be based off the Toyota Rush platform and take on cars like the Nissan Juke. However, Toyota is still claiming the C Prius will be a compact city vehicle that will offer the best fuel economy of any hybrid. That seems to suggest the Prius C will be smaller than the upcoming Prius V. Likewise, with such fuel economy numbers, it would seem the C Prius will also be smaller than the current Prius. Fortunately, new details of this 2013 Toyota Prius c Concept will be forthcoming soon, we can always keep the info updated, just type Www.toyota Prius C on the web search.

At 3900mm long, these Prius Concept is 560mm shorter than the current third-generation Prius and just 5mm longer than the all-new Toyota Yaris hatch. Boasting dimensions similar to the Prius v, the production C Prius is expected to deliver class-leading fuel efficiency figures and offer more engaging handling.
