Audi A4 2011 Changes

The Audi A4 2011 is a viable alternative to the more-expensive BMW 3-series. The 2011 Audi A4 has an upscale, simple interior that ranks at the top of the class, and provides a fun ride that spices up daily commutes. It is a slick-looking, smooth-driving sport sedan, and its Avant wagon variant is possibly slicker still.

The Audi A4 has over the years become more of a purebred sport sedan and less of a luxury compact. Carried over intact after a complete reinvention in 2009, the new Audi A4 continues to wear its racier design well, and offer an engaging driving experience, impressive in-cabin technology, and, surprisingly, great fuel efficiency.

What is especially to like about the 2011 Audi A4 changes is its aggressive look, and how the whole design fits together. From a few paces back, the 2011 Audi A4, like the 2011 Audi A3 with which is shares its proportions and most of the mechanicals, has presence–serious, I-mean-business presence on the street.

While reviewers love the Audi A4 appearance inside and out, Audi’s engine selection puzzles them: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The 2011 Audi A4 isn’t underpowered by any means, but in a segment where the competition has six cylinders, it will never be a top-notch driver.

Every 2011 Audi A4 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 211 horsepower and an ample 258 pound-feet of torque. The 2011 Audi A4 sedan’s Premium and Premium Plus trim levels come standard as the 2.0T FrontTrak, indicating it has front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

All Audi A4 2011 trims can be had as the 2.0T Quattro, denoting all-wheel drive and either a standard six-speed manual or optional eight-speed automatic. The Audi A4 2011 Avant is available only with Quattro and the automatic.

In the ongoing horsepower war raging among luxury brands, the new Audi A4 2011 has essentially declared itself neutral, the automotive equivalent of Switzerland. While others from around the world duke it out with six-cylinders and ever-increasing power numbers, the new Audi A4 makes due with a turbocharged four-cylinder good for only 211 horses.

This might seem as if Audi is deliberately limiting the A4′s appeal, but in reality the Audi A4 2011 manages to nearly match (or better) the acceleration of its competitors while simultaneously offering impressive fuel economy and the reassurance of available all-wheel drive. Even if the A4′s engine isn’t what it could be, the 2011 A4 has a lot going for it.

Fuel economy is great, and although its fuel ratings dropped a bit from last year, the A4 2011 is still one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in the class. Audi says the new Audi A4 2011 should average 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission.

Audi A4 2011 Driving Performance

The 2011 Audi A4 handling is neutral and secure, especially when equipped with the all-wheel-drive system. It becomes downright athletic when you add the Sport package, though ride quality suffers (especially with the 19-inch wheels). The 2011 Audi A4 feels like a 2010 Audi S8 luxury cruiser that has fallen into a shrinking ray.

It’s not like the franchise was in danger, but the Audi A4 2011 saves it anyway. In addition to the sport suspension and host of other upgrades in the Audi A4 2011, the 2011 Audi S4 includes heated washers, sport seats with alcantara inserts, aluminum door inserts, and the three-zone climate control system.
