BMW m5 2012 Revealed Before Its Official Debut
Just a few months before the car’s official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW has decided it was time to reveal the official specs on BMW M5 2012 sports sedan. After seeing the first concept version at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, now we can see the 2012 BMW M5 specifications in all its glory.

The BMW M5 has also improved mightily over the years, with the all-new BMW M5 2012 being the smoothest, most powerful, most elegant, and most refined M5 distillation to date. Style wise, there are a few subtle changes inside and out, but nothing major. The significant differences are hiding underneath the chiseled hood of BMW M5 2012.

The greatest differences, of course, is the redesigned, heavy-breathing twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine in the BMW M5 2012 which replacing the big V-10. Horsepower has been bumped up to 560 from 500, and torque makes a huge jump from 383 lb-ft to a massive 500.

The company promises the all new BMW M5 2012 will get 500 lb-ft of torque starting at a mere 1500 rpm, as well. These numbers may sound familiar if you’re a fan of the Bavarian propeller brand: a version of the engine is already in service, making slightly less horsepower, in the 2012 BMW 6 Series and BMW X5 M.

BMW projects that the BMW M5 2012 will be capable of a 0-to-62-mph run in 4.4 seconds, and a top speed of 190 mph for cars fitted with the M Driver’s package. Considering that we’ve seen times in the low-four-second range for the last-gen M5, we won’t be surprised if the BMW 2012 M5 acceleration estimate turns out to be conservative.

The Driving Impression
BMW has simplified the driving settings in the BMW M5 2012, giving you three for steering, shifting, suspension, and traction control. The BMW M5 2012 pictures will help you to get the idea about things working at the driving settings. The steering, shifting, and suspension settings range from normal (S1) to Sport (S2) to Sport Plus (S3), while traction is either normal, M Dynamic Mode (limited intervention), or everything off.

To help you customize those settings for any driving situation, BMW has added another M button to the wheel, for M1 and M2. After the buttons are programmed, the 2012 BMW M5 will have three distinct personalities available at the tip of your finger, or more accurately, your thumb.

The 2012 BMW M5 does what it’s told surprisingly well. Hard, aggressive cornering will give you three different experiences, depending on the vehicle’s settings and your right foot. Without a doubt, the new BMW M5 is better than its predecessor in every way.

Some say they’ll miss the high-rpm V-10 screaming under the 2012 BMW M5 specifications. Much like a purveyor of fine spirits, when an automaker starts with quality components, and adds time, insight, and desire, it’s possible to create something amazing — a vintage that can truly be savored.

With the new BMW M5, BMW has done just that. The new BMW M5 2012 will go on sale in Europe in Spring 2012, at press time, there was no word on when North American deliveries would begin nor feature content for stateside models nor there is the info about the prices. It is in many respects a landmark car, one that’s going to have the fast-car competition–Audi, Cadillac, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Maserati, among them–scratching their heads as they attempt to come up with a reply.
