2013 Audi S4 Avant: New Solutions for Efficiency
New solutions for efficiency, driving dynamics and infotainment, along with an even more attractive design, attest the “Vorsprung durch Technik” achieved by the 2013 Audi A4 Sedan, the A4 Avant, the A4 allroad quattro and the 2013 Audi S4 Avant. Completing the B8 platform’s 2013 model year product improvement, Audi has officially introduced the new 2013 Audi A4 range, the 2013 Audi S4.

Sporting a fresh facelift that’s nearly identical to that seen on the new A5, the 2013 Audi S4 Avant incorporates the same beveled-edge grille, headlight design and overall front/rear fascias; each carrying over familiar design cues from the new A6 and A7. As we mentioned above, the 2013 Audi S4 new facelift corresponds almost identically with that of the new A5.

As Audi explains about the 2013 Audi S4 images “The new look further accentuates the horizontal lines at the front end. The engine hood is more arched, the upper corners of the single frame grille are tapered, and the cross ribs and the Audi rings are highlighted three-dimensionally.”

Following the 30-40 second-long trailers originally included in the 2013 Audi S4 official reveal last month, Audi has now released full driving scenes and exterior/interior details of the newly facelifted 2013 Audi A4 series. Looking more aggressive, the 2013 Audiadopts a new front fascia with a revised grille, restyled headlights and a modified hood.

There’s also a new diffuser, revised taillights and a dual exhaust system for the 2013 Audi S4 Avant. For a sportier appearance, the 2013 Audi S4 S-line package has a reduced ride height and 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inchers are optional). Inside, the 2013 Audi S4 cabin gains a new steering wheel, revised trim and additional chrome accents.

Other 2013 Audi S4 changes include an updated infotainment system and buttons for the heated / cooled seats. On the handling front, the 2013 Audi S4 has a revised suspension and a new power steering system which “requires no energy for straight-ahead motion, thereby reducing fuel consumption by up to 0.3 L/100 km.”

Manual Transmissions Discontinued 2013 Audi S4 Avant
Audi will discontinue manual transmissions in two of their most popular enthusiast-driven models; the 2013 Audi S4 and S5 (starting with next model year’s face lifted range). While our hearts immediately skipped a beat after reading the headline about the cars, we were happy to read on that despite this move by Audi AG,

American enthusiasts will still be able to enjoy a proper gearbox as Audi of America will retain the 6-speed manual option for both cars. The 2013 Audi S4 will keep the same 333-hp, supercharged, 3.0 TFSI V6 currently found in the 2012 model. Notably, the 2013 Audi S4 engine has a supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 with 333 PS (245 kW / 329 hp) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque.
It enables the 2013 Audi S4 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). In terms of efficiency, owners can expect the 2013 Audi S4 to average 8.0 L/100 km (29.4 mpg US / 35.3 mpg UK).

Overall, the 2013 Audi S4 Avant refresh is hardly a surprise following the A5/S5′s reveal in July, what is a surprise though is the new A4 allroad quattro (seriously, how good does that thing look?). In addition to the new Audi A4 and 2013 Audi S4, we’ve heard that the new allroad will likely reach U.S. shores by next year (though likely in gasoline-powered form only).
