2012 Acura TSX Gains a New Model but Sees Only Minor Changes
The 2012 Acura TSX boasts a muscular appearance and great handling, complemented by enhanced comfort, convenience and safety features. The Acura TSX 2012 lineup gains a new model but otherwise sees only minor trim changes. This front-wheel-drive car is Acura’s entry-level model, and TSX shares some of its basic design with the European-market Honda Accord Sedan.

New for 2012 the 4-cylinder sedan will be offered in a 2012 TSX Special Edition and the wagon includes an inflator kit instead of a compact spare, improving storage space. While the 2012 Acura TSX Sport Wagon is a station-wagon version of this car.

A wagon version of the TSX entry-luxury car joined the lineup last year, and there are no significant changes to it for 2012 TSX model year. The 2012 new Acura TSX Sport Wagon design doesn’t differ much from the sedan’s until you get to the rear, where an open cargo area replaces the trunk.

For Acura TSX 2012, the standard engine remains a 201-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder. A 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 on the Acura TSX is borrowed from the larger Acura TL, and is optional. The 4-cylinder sedan is available with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission while V6 versions use the automatic only.

Standard features in the 2012 Acura TSX include a sunroof, wireless cell-phone link, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and automatic climate control. The V6 model of the new Acura TSX 2012 rides on 18-inch wheels, while the 4-cylinder gets 17s. The wheels are accented by large fender flares, and the front of the car is defined by a grille that features a silver-colored upper bar. It also received new bumper styling that gave it a frowning expression.

The 2012 TSX Special Edition has the same features as the Base 2012 TSX but adds specific exterior and interior trim. The 2012 TSX Sport Wagon is available exclusively with the 4-cylinder engine and five-speed auto power team.

Safety features in the 2012 Acura TSX include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. An optional Technology Package for both the 4-cylinder and V6 is available on the new Acura TSX 2012, and versions so equipped are priced as separate models. The package includes a voice-activated navigation system with real-time traffic and weather information; a rearview camera; a hard drive for storing digital-music files; and a 10-speaker, 415-watt surround-sound audio system.

The 2012 Acura TSX interior, a rival to the Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited has a high-quality appearance and room for up to five people. The standard stereo inside the 2012 TSX is USB/iPod compatible, Bluetooth connectivity is also standard. The optional navigation system boasts enough hard drive space for 15 gigabytes of music.
