Toyota finally took the wraps off their new 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan and we have to say, it looks pretty good in person. Although Toyota sent out some Toyota Sienna pictures this morning, we just got back from the official unveiling at the LA Auto Show and have a whole batch of live shots and quite a few more media pics for you to browse. We were quite shocked by the size of the crowd at this car press conference, perhaps showing that even though the minivan market may be shrinking, it still meets a sizable need.

The 2011 Toyota Sienna is highly customizable based on the consumer’s specific needs. With a total of five trim packages (the base, the SE, the LE, the XLE, the Limited and also there will be a Toyota Sienna Hybrid coming later in the lineup), potential buyers have a slew of different amenity combinations to choose from, although it can be debated whether such extensive variation is really necessary on a family-geared minivan. There is also an enormous discrepancy between the prices of each trim package; the base Toyota Sienna costs nearly fifteen thousand dollars less than the Limited edition.

The number of passengers that the can can carry also varies between the different body trim styles. The base version and the Limited edition can only be purchased with a seven-passenger layout, while the Toyota Sienna SE only comes in an eight-passenger design. The Toyota Sienna LE and the XLE can be purchased in either format.

The Pricing  2011 Toyota Sienna

The 2011 Toyota Sienna is more stylish than the ungainly 2011 Honda Odyssey, which looks from the side as if its rear third was tacked on as an afterthought. With a choice of four-cylinder or V-6 engine, six-speed transmission, a terrific rear-seat entertainment system, and an auto access seat designed for disabled passengers, the car is the best family vehicle on the road today. The big advantage of the four-cylinder engine is that it lowers the Toyota Sienna price.

The base-model 2011 Toyota Sienna with four-cylinder power and front-wheel drive starts at just $25,370, nearly $3,000 less than the 2011 Honda Odyssey, which comes only with a 3.5 liter, 248-hp V6 and starts at $28,580. Standard equipment on the base model 2011 Toyota Sienna includes dual sliding rear doors with power windows, full power accessories, a telescoping steering wheel, and a four-speaker CD system.
