1965-1966 Rambler Ambassador
After the departure of George Romney of American Motors, until February 12, 1962, took the helm as CEO and Roy Abernathy Prsident and began a program to compete with the big three. The result was a great ambassador car built to compete with the likes of the Chevy Impala and Ford Galaxy.

Dick Teague was the principal designer for his 1965 Rambler Ambassador, and design a clear distinction between the less luxurious and classic American models. Teague began extending the wheelbase ambassador 112-116 cm. The bodies were still in the original series, along with 4-inch difference in length of the hood impressive ambassador.
The grid design was bold yet pleasant vee’d aluminum front and slightly stacked quad headlights limited. Full cut length chrome strip crown sites and protection panels on the front fenders to the full height vertical taillights. The roof is clear and sculpted sides stressed the length of the car. Motor Trend called the new design ambassador calls “cute car.”
The engine is new ambassador for the 232 cubic-inch six-cylinder engine that develops 155 hp. More popular is the optional V8, the movements of 287 centimeters and 327 cubic and developed 198 horsepower and 270 were respectful.
Transmission options include a standard 3-speed manual column shift, but most owners decided ambassador for Flash-O-Matic, gave a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission.
